Choosing Faucet for Your Bathroom

Author: Andrew Kranz

Different Types of Faucets

  • Single-hole Faucets- Single-hole faucets are best for small sinks. They are easy to maintain. They are easy to install because only a single hole is required in the sink you want the faucet to be mounted to. If you want to buy this faucet but you have a sink with 3 pre-drilled holes then you can use an optional plate to cover up the holes. These faucets may have different handles for hot and cold water.Faucets
  • Center-set Faucets- Center-set faucets are mostly used in traditional bathrooms. They can be used on sinks with 3 holes set at 4’’ apart. They will have a single lever or two handles mounted on an escutcheon plate. They are ideal for small bathrooms with small sinks and limited space.
  • Widespread Faucets- Widespread faucets are available in deck-mounted and wall-mounted form. These faucets have two handles that are separate from the spout. These faucets can be used on sinks with 3 holes set at 8’’ apart. These faucets are mostly used for pedestal sinks.Widespread faucets
  • Wall mounted faucets- These faucets can be used with freestanding or vessel type sinks that require a long spout for extended reach. If you are going to buy this faucet, keep this thing in mind that this faucet require a separate wall mounted valve and drain for installation. If your sink has pre-drilled holes then this faucet will not work on your sink.Wall mounted faucets
